How to Store Your Bakes for Maximum Freshness
One of the most common questions we get at Munchyhub is:
“What’s the best way to keep my brownies, blondies, cakes, and cookies fresh for as long as possible?”
Proper storage really makes a difference — not only to taste and texture but also to avoid food waste and help you enjoy your treats exactly how you like them.
Here’s how to get the most out of every bake you order.
Why Storage Matters
All our bakes are handmade, without the heavy preservatives found in supermarket products. This makes them softer, richer — but also means they naturally start to dry out or harden over time if not stored correctly.
By following a few simple steps, you keep that soft centre, gooey top, and fresh-baked flavour for days (or even months, if you freeze).
Always store your bakes away from heat sources and direct sunlight, and make sure containers really seal well. A little care makes a big difference in taste.
Keep Them Wrapped Until You’re Ready
Every Munchyhub bake arrives individually wrapped in food-grade plastic. This keeps out air and moisture changes that make bakes stale faster.
Tip: Only open the exact number you plan to eat at a time. Once unwrapped, treats start to dry out more quickly, even in a container.

Storing at Room Temperature
-
Leave each piece in its original wrapping.
- Place them all in an airtight container, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Properly stored this way, they stay fresh for 7 to 10 days.
This method keeps the texture as close as possible to the day they were baked.
Freezing for Longer Storage
If you’ve ordered a larger box or want to spread them out over weeks:
- Keep each piece in its plastic wrap.
- Place them in a single layer in a freezer-safe container or bag.
- Frozen this way, they’ll keep their flavour and moisture for up to 3 months.
Planning ahead helps: think about how many you might want to enjoy fresh, and freeze the rest as soon as possible to lock in peak freshness.
Thawing & Bringing Back to Life
When you’re ready:
- Transfer your wrapped treats from the freezer to the fridge overnight.
- About 30 minutes before eating, take them out and let them come back to room temperature (still wrapped).
This gradual thaw helps avoid condensation and keeps the texture perfect.
Warming Them Up (Optional)
If you love that fresh-from-the-oven feel:
-
Unwrap the treat once it’s at room temperature.
- Microwave for about 10 – 15 seconds on low power.
- Check each interval; over-heating can make them dry rather than gooey.
Enjoy – Thoughtfully
The key to the best experience is planning:
- Keep most pieces wrapped and untouched until you need them.
- Decide day by day how many you’ll unwrap, so each bake is as fresh as possible.
This small habit means every brownie, blondie, cake, or cookie will taste just as good — whether fresh, thawed, or gently warmed.
This is really insightful.
