Can You Send Brownies in the Post? How We Get Ours to Your Door Fresh
Yes, you can send brownies in the post, and we do it every day. We bake our brownies fresh in our Manchester bakery, wrap every piece individually, pack them into a sturdy gift-ready box and send them out on a tracked service, so they arrive fresh at any door in the UK.
That's the short answer. The longer one is about why it works, because not every bake is built for the journey. A delicate cream cake won't survive a sorting office. A proper brownie will, if it's made the right way and packed with care.
Here's how we do it, from the oven to the doorstep, and what to know if you're thinking of ordering a box for yourself or sending one to someone else.
Why our brownies travel well
Dense and fudgy, by design
A good brownie is made for the post. Ours are dense and fudgy, with a crackled top and a centre that gives way just as it should. There's no frosting to smudge, no fresh cream to spoil and no fragile decoration to break. What leaves our bakery is what arrives at your door.
Real ingredients, nothing to hide
We bake the way you would at home: real butter, Callebaut Belgian chocolate, free-range eggs and organic flour. Every ingredient is listed in full on each product page, sugar included, because a proper treat has some.
No preservatives, so we bake fresh
We don't add preservatives or artificial colours. That's a choice, and it has a consequence: our bakes aren't made to sit in a warehouse for months. So we don't stockpile. We bake fresh every day, and between online orders and our café, batches go fast. If we've sold out of something, we may take one extra day to bake a fresh batch rather than send you anything less.
How we pack them
Every piece individually wrapped
Each brownie is sealed on its own. That keeps air out and freshness in, and it means you only open what you're about to eat. The rest stays exactly as it left us.
A sturdy, gift-ready box
The wrapped pieces go into a proper box that's ready to give, whether it's landing on your own doorstep or someone else's. No flimsy bags, and no rattling around.
One flavour per box
Every box holds a single flavour, and there's a reason. Mixing would mean breaking into several trays and leaving the rest to go stale, and we won't sell anything that isn't freshly baked. Keeping flavours apart also keeps allergens apart. Fancy a range? Order a few different boxes together.
From our bakery to your door
This is the part most people ask about when they want to send brownies by post. If you're after brownies delivered in the UK, here's exactly what happens after you order.
- Baked fresh. Your brownies are baked in our own bakery, by hand. No industrial production line, no shortcuts.
- Dispatched the same day. Order before 2pm and, if everything's in stock, we dispatch the same day on a next-day tracked service with Royal Mail. Orders placed after 2pm go out the next working day.
- Tracked all the way. You'll get a tracking number as soon as your order is on its way, so you can see exactly where it is.
Most deliveries arrive within one to two working days of dispatch. If you're sending a gift for a particular day, give yourself a little breathing room.
What if nobody's in?
Because every parcel is tracked, you can keep an eye on it. If nobody's home, the carrier's usual options apply, such as redelivery or collection. Just make sure it's picked up, as we can't re-send a parcel that's returned to us. Fresh bakes don't travel twice. The same goes for addresses: please double-check the delivery address at checkout, especially for gifts. Full details are on our shipping policy page.
How long they keep
Proper bakes without preservatives still keep well, as long as you look after them. From the day your order is delivered:
- Room temperature or fridge: up to 14 days, kept in their original wrapping, in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight.
- Freezer: up to 6 months.
So if a box of 12 is a bit much for one week, freeze some for later. We've written a full guide on how to store your bakes for maximum freshness, including how to thaw them and bring them back to that just-baked feel.
Sending brownies as a gift
Brownie gifts by post are one of the easiest ways to say thank you, happy birthday or thinking of you, without the guesswork of flowers or another candle. A few things to get right:
Pick the right box size
Our brownie boxes come in 6, 9 or 12 pieces.
- Box of 6: a proper treat for one person or a couple.
- Box of 9: for a household, or a family that shares (in theory).
- Box of 12: for the office, a team, or anywhere it's going to get passed around.
No wrapping needed
We don't do gift wrapping or cards. Every box goes out the same way, whoever it's for: neatly packed, every piece wrapped, and good enough to hand over as it is.
Send it straight to them
Just put their address in at checkout. We pack it, post it and track it. You don't have to do anything else.
A note on allergens
We bake in an open kitchen, so our products contain, and can come into contact with, allergens including gluten, dairy, eggs and nuts. Some bakes also include branded ingredients like Nutella, Oreo or Lotus Biscoff. Full allergen details are on every product page. If you're sending a gift, it's worth checking with the recipient first.
Frequently asked questions
Can you send brownies to someone as a surprise?
Yes. Enter their address as the delivery address at checkout and we'll send the box straight to them. It arrives exactly as it would to you, packed and ready to open.
Do they arrive squashed?
Brownies are dense by nature, every piece is individually wrapped, and they travel in a sturdy box, so they're built for the journey. If anything does arrive damaged in transit, get in touch within 24 hours of delivery with a clear photo and we'll put it right with a replacement, credit or refund.
Can I send blondies or cookies too?
Yes. Everything we bake goes out the same way: blondies, thick New York-style cookies, banana cake and millionaire shortbread. You can order different boxes together in one order.
Do you deliver everywhere in the UK?
We deliver right across the UK on a tracked service. For delivery options and costs for your address, see our shipping policy. The final cost is always shown at checkout, and delivery is free on larger orders.
Can I mix flavours in one box?
Not at the moment. Each box is a single flavour, so that every tray we open is used fresh and allergens stay separate. If you want a range, order a few different boxes together. They'll arrive in the same order.
Proper brownies, delivered UK-wide
So, can you post brownies and have them arrive tasting like they've just come out of the oven? If they're made like home, with real ingredients and no shortcuts, and packed properly, yes. That's the whole point of what we do.
If you're sending something, start with our gifting collection. If it's for you, have a look at the brownies. And if you can't decide, the Raspberry Jam Blondie is the one our customers keep coming back for.
